The Festival has finally come and gone

Thursday night was our Kindergarten festival and I think that everyone at the school was very happy to see it be finished once and for all. This has been in the works for over 2 months now and both Lucas and myself have been working extra hours to help with the K8 class. We are both looking forward to finishing work at the same time as the other teachers on a Friday for the first time in 2 months.

Considering that the actors in our little production range in ages from 4-6 it was pretty well done, we had fog machines, flames, fireworks, and at the end those exploding stramers that shoot from the ceiling, which the teachers ended up cleaning after the guests had all gone home. I personally am looking forward to being able to teach again, rather than practice for the festival.

We have also both completed our teachers college applications and now we have to wait for about 4 months to find out if we have gotten in or not. It wasn't as stressful for us this year as we already have a job in case we don't get in and we know that we will be going over to Buffalo instead of waiting another full year to be admitted.

The weather has finally dropped off over here and the temperatures are dropping below zero almost every night now. Thank goodness for ondol heating, it consosts of hot water piped through the flooring, which is very effective and keeps your toes nice and toasty too, plus it doesn't dry out the air quite so much. The only downside is that when you turn off the heat, the hot water is still in the pipes so it might continue to get warmer for another few degrees before it stabalizes.

Well, that's really all that's new with us. We've just paid for our tickets to Thailand and are getting very excited about going (we leave on the 30th) and by the time we get back it will have already been 6 months in Korea.
