In Preparation...

Welcome to our blog! The plan is to use this site as a place where friends and family back in Canada can come to keep apprised of all of our adventures in the Republic of Korea. Both Jo and myself are at that stage where we're feeling both excitement and anxiety about our upcoming trip, but at this time our excitement appears to be overpowering our nerves. Our flight will be leaving on Thursday the 6th and heading directly into Korea where we will have a stopover before a connecting trip to the city where we will be staying until the summer of 2007. I've tried to determine the actual travel time but the fact that we will be traveling across so many time zones has caused me to give up. I know we're leaving on the 6th, and arriving sometime on the 8th. I'm sure I could figure it out exactly but I don't really feel like spending the time and effort only to reach the reward of knowing exactly how long I will be trapped in a small economy class airline seat.

Once we arrive, we will have a weekend to recover from the trip and hopefully get our internal clocks accustomed to the change in time. Of course, MY primary goal upon arrival will be setting up an internet connection as fast as possible, something which may actually be easier to accomplish than it is here in Canada, especially considering how long it took the LAST time I changed ISPs. Jo will probably take the same time to go practice talking to everyone she can, she's funny like that - always talking to people and stuff... Suffice it to say, we will endeavor to make a post as soon as we are able to upon arrival in order to keep everyone up to date.
